Motivation for writing The Dynasty of Amagboribie
The Children of Amagboribie haven understood the importance of History as stated above, and knowing that, there is no written record of the History of our ancestry, decided to make a difference by compiling what is contained herein. This is to avoid putting subsequent descendants in doubt of their cultural heritage.
Introduction
This naration will cover events before 1934 as narrated orally by our Parents, Uncles, Cousins and some community acquaintances. It will also reference notable events as observed and experienced by the children. The reader will be taken through the life history of Mr. Macdonald Wilson Amagboribie Tamie.
Pre 1934 Historic Narration
Founder of Okujagu-Ama - OKOMBA
An Island now known as Okujagu-Ama was discovered and inhabited by a great Man called OKOMBA. He occupied the island with some of his relatives and servants.
They migrated from Egweme Biri in the Okirika Island.
Okujagu Island originally served as fishing port before it was eventually transformed to an autonomous Community.
It was previously referred to as “Iwoama” , that is “New Settlement” in Okrika language.
Ojimba and Okuru were also relatives of Okomba. They relocated from Egweme Biri and got their respective settlements with the assistance of Okomba. OKOMBA was a well-known chief, autocratic in nature, a warlord and also a wealthy local and international entrepreneur.
The Beloved Servant
OKOMBA had a special love for one of his servants which he called CHE-INIABOSO (meaning what has been offending people in you) with the nickname OKUJAGU.
OKOMBA adopted his beloved servant (Che-Iniaboso) as a son, though he (OKOMBA) had other children. Ibitamuno (CHIOMA) was one of his children.
His kingship was ironically transferred away from his biological children when he adopted his servant CHE-INIABOSO as his successor.
CHE-INABOSO became the king of the land at the demise of OKOMBA. The popularity of his nickname, gradually took over as the name of the Island "OKUJAGU-AMA" which led to gradual wiping away of his master's name OKOMBA. The Island is presently referred to as Okujagu-Ama. He acted as mercenary for some neigbouring Ikwere communities during communal conflicts. He was given some spans of lands as honourarium for taking them to victories. The present Azuabie is one of such lands. Many others have been lost to land grabbers.
Offspring of OKOMBA
OKOMBA gave birth to Obuochuama (aka CHIOMA), Obuochuama gave birth to TAMUNO-MIE-IBI (Tamie the only son) and some daughters commonly referred to as Ada Furo (i.e. families of daughters) in the community presently. At this point in time, the community was already divided into compounds. Tamie came from the Bipialaka Compound.

When Tamie was of age, he fell in love with a lady popularly known as Ahia-Ukwa from Ibiapu Compound.
Children of Tamie and Ahia-Ukwa
Tamie and Ahia-Ukwa were not legally married, but cohabited. They gave birth to seven children: Bedone (son),Nehemiah (son), Emmanuel (son), Velvet (son), Amakiri (son), Dango (daughter) and Amagboribie (son).
